On May 27, Mr. Tran Huu Thuy Giang, Vice Chairman of Hue City People’s Committee, had a working meeting with a delegation from CNN International Commercial, led by Mr. Phil Nelson, CNN’s Executive Vice President, to discuss a media cooperation plan in the period of 2026 - 2030, aimed at promoting the core identity of Hue to the world.

The “Imprints of Hue Buddhist Heritage” exhibition, part of a series of activities celebrating Vesak 2570 of the Buddhist calendar (2026 Gregorian calendar), officially opened on the afternoon of May 24 at Lieu Quan Buddhist Cultural Center (15A Le Loi Street, Thuan Hoa Ward).

With the trend of modern tourism development, the night-time economy is increasingly becoming a “golden opportunity” to enhance a destination’s appeal and extend visitors’ length of stay. Hue is a land that bears the imprint of the southward migration and territorial expansion undertaken more than 700 years ago by the people of ancient Thuan Hoa. Very few documents reveal the timing of these migration waves or the organization and formation of Vietnamese villages in the region. Yet during fieldwork, I gained access to several ancient Han-Nom documents recording the migration, land reclamation, and establishment of villages and communes. Most notably is a cadastral record dating to the 9th year of the Dai Hoa reign (1451) under King Le Nhan Tong, compiled exactly 575 years ago.

VnExpress Marathon Hue 2026 officially took place on the morning of April 19, with the starting point on Le Duan Street, in front of the Phu Van Lau - Nghinh Luong Dinh area. Mr. Tran Huu Thuy Giang, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee, attended the event and joined the 5km race.

Such is the title of a book recently released by Thuan Hoa Publishing House in late March 2026. The more than 20 articles included in the book are the result of a dedicated process of research, documentation, and fieldwork by its two authors, Nguyen Duc Loc and Le Thi Mai An (currently working at the Hue City Museum of History).

Many journeys back to old Hue begin with seemingly small details. For me, it was a visit to An Thu garden house in Gia Hoi old quarter - a contemplative Hue residence nestled behind lush green trees. Mr. Vo Chanh Tien, the current caretaker, led me through the rooms while sharing the house's history and stories of generations tied to the garden and the rhythm of the old Gia Hoi. But what made me linger the longest was actually… beneath my feet.

The 2026 National Short Course (25m pool) Swimming and Finswimming Championships officially kicked off on the morning of April 5th at Hue City Sports Center (2 Le Quy Don) in Hue, featuring many outstanding swimmers such as Nguyen Huy Hoang, Vo Thi My Tien, Thuy Hien, Pham Thanh Bao, and Nguyen Quoc, … the tournament promises intense, high-level competition with the potential for multiple new national records.

On the evening of April 3, Vice Chairman of the City People’s Committee Tran Huu Thuy Giang had a meeting with the working delegation from the City of Krems (Krems an der Donau - Republic of Austria), led by Mayor Peter Molnar. Attending the working meeting were Austrian Ambassador to Vietnam Philipp Agathonos and Dr. Heinz Boyer, President of IMC Krems University, along with representatives from relevant departments and agencies of both sides.
