On the evening of March 21st, the opening ceremony of the first-ever “Vietnamese Martial Arts Festival - Hue 2025” took place at Ngo Mon Square - Hue Imperial Citadel, with the theme “Heroic spirit of the nation.”

The “Hue - Mega Booming” music festival will take place at Ngo Mon Square - Hue Imperial Citadel over two nights, April 5th - 6th, 2025 (coinciding with the Hung Kings’ Commemoration Day). The event will feature many young singers, with a special highlight being the appearance of the “Anh Trai Say Hi” (Say Hi with Bros) lineup - a well-known reality TV show about music.

The Ngo Mon (Meridian Gate) Bell, Emperor Duy Tan’s Throne, a stone relief in the Minh Mang era, and dragon statues in the Thieu Tri era are 4 out of 33 artifacts recently recognized as National Treasures (NTs).

On the first day of the new year, a ceremony to announce the National Tourism Year and Hue Festival 2025 was held at Ngo Mon Square by the People’s Committee of Hue City.

On the morning of October 26th, at Ngo Mon Square, the Ministry of Public Security held the opening ceremony of the 9th “For National Security” Health Congress and the 6th Regulations, Military and Martial Arts Competition of People’s Police in Region 4.

Ngo Mon Bell, the Throne of Emperor Duy Tan, the Stone Relief under the reign of Emperor Minh Mang and the Dragon Statue under the reign of Emperor Thieu Tri are the four artifacts requesting National Treasure Recognition in 2024. The Stone Relief under the reign of Emperor Minh Mang is currently on display for close-up look at Hue Museum of Royal Antiquities.

The finale of the 24th season of "Road to Mount Olympia" will take place on the morning of October 13th. The live broadcast location in Thua Thien Hue will be organized at Ngo Mon Square.

Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Phan Ngoc Tho, along with representatives of a number of departments and agencies, local people, as well as tourists, participated in the procession offering lotus flowers to President Ho Chi Minh at the Special National Monument - President Ho Chi Minh’s childhood Memorial House in Duong No Village (Phu Duong Commune, Hue City) on the morning of May 19th.

The poster of Hue International Arts Festival Week 2024 features Hue purple color for its background combined with iconic images such as Ngo Mon Gate, Thai Hoa Palace, the parasol tree, dragons, the sun and the moon… showcasing the richness and uniqueness of Hue's culture.

This is the theme of the exhibition organized by Hue Monuments Conservation Centre (HMCC) in coordination with National Archives Center 1, held on the afternoon of January 17th at Ngo Mon Square, Imperial City.
