On the afternoon of February 27th, a training conference on election procedures for deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026 - 2031 term was held in a hybrid format, combining in-person attendance with online connections to commune and ward-level venues across the city.

On the morning of February 26th, a nationwide online conference was held in Hanoi to roll out preparations for the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and deputies to People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026 - 2031 term. The event was connected to 34 provincial-level venues and 3.321 commune-level venues across the country.

On the morning of February 2, the supervisory and inspection delegation of the National Assembly Standing Committee on the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and the deputies to the People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026–2031 term, led by General Luong Tam Quang, Politburo member, Minister of Public Security, and member of the National Election Council, conducted an inspection and working session with Hue City.

On the afternoon of January 8, a delegation from the Salavan Provincial People’s Council, Lao People’s Democratic Republic, led by Mr. Siheang Homsombat, Head of the National Assembly Delegation for Constituency No. 14, and Chairman of the Salavan Provincial People's Council, visited and extended Lunar New Year greetings for the Year of the Horse to Hue City.

On November 25, at the National Assembly House, Mr. Do Van Chien, Politburo Member and Permanent Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, attended a ceremony where Phu Tho Province presented funds to support localities heavily damaged by recent historic floods.

On June 26, the National Assembly approved a Resolution on tuition fee exemption and support for preschool children, general education students, and learners of general education programs in educational institutions within the national education system.

The Cultural Heritage Law No. 45/2025/QH15, passed by the 15th National Assembly on November 23, 2024, at its 8th session, will officially take effect on July 1, 2025. For Hue, a centrally-governed municipality and Vietnam's first heritage and cultural city, the (amended) Cultural Heritage Law plays a crucial role in improving the effectiveness of managing, protecting, and promoting cultural heritage.

2025 marks the first year of implementing the National Assembly’s Resolution No. 175 on establishing Hue as a centrally-governed municipality, along with the National Assembly Standing Committee’s Resolution No. 1314 on restructuring district- and commune-level administrative units in the newly established Hue City.

On November 30, 2024, the National Assembly passed the Resolution to establish Hue City under the Central Government from January 1, 2025, and the Resolution on the restructuring of district and commune-level administrative units of Hue City, in the 2023 - 2025 period. Hue City (under Thua Thien Hue Province) will be divided into two districts: Phu Xuan and Thuan Hoa.

On November 30, the National Assembly issued Resolution No. 175/2024/QH15 regarding the establishment of Hue City as a centrally governed municipality (NQ175). Simultaneously, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly issued Resolution 1314/NQ-UBTVQH15 on the arrangement of district- and commune-level administrative units in Hue City for the 2023–2025 period (NQ 1314). These resolutions will take effect on January 1, 2025.
