On the afternoon of March 7, Nguyen Hue High School, in collaboration with various universities, colleges, and language centers in Hue and across the country, organized the Career Guidance Day in the academic year 2025 - 2026 for more than 600 12th-grade students.

During this Binh Ngo Lunar New Year, the community of Hue heritage enthusiasts receive good news. That is the comeback of the once-renowned lien lang Chuon (the Chuon village decorative scroll). The journey of reviving this valuable type of folk painting, which has been lost for some time, is a long story which took not only sweat, buy also dedication of young people who love the heritage.

No one has captured the Vietnamese sense of living away from one’s homeland better than poet Nguyen Khoa Diem when he wrote: “They carry the names of their communes and villages on every migration journey.” In the highland city on the Lang Biang Plateau, this sentiment holds true as well. Many people from Hue left their ancestral land to settle here nearly a century ago. Though four or five generations have now been born on this new land, the “Hue spirit” in these distant Hue communities has never faded.

Ask the people of Hue what flower they love most, and most will likely answer: the apricot blossom. To put it more formally, “hoang mai” - yellow apricot, without a doubt. Don’t believe it? Come to Hue and see for yourself! There’s a whole movement called “Yellow apricot blossom in front of the entrance”; a completed research project on “Conservation and development of Hue’s yellow apricot variety (Hue’s Hoang mai)”; a scientific conference on developing Hue’s Hoang mai into a key local product, aimed at successfully realizing the project to build Thua Thien Hue province (now Hue City) into Vietnam’s yellow apricot homeland. My friend, journalist Minh Tu, even published a book called “In front of the house stands a yellow apricot tree”, which sold out instantly, was reprinted, and translated into foreign languages to great acclaim.

On the morning of January 24, the City’s Red Cross Society, in coordination with the local authorities of Chan May - Lang Co Commune and the main sponsor, Heineken Brewery Vietnam Co., Ltd., held the opening ceremony of the “Humanitarian Tet Market - Spring of Binh Ngo 2026” and presented 300 Tet gift packages to disadvantaged residents in the commune.

On January 13th, the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee held a working session with the Party Committee of Chan May - Lang Co Commune regarding the implementation of the Resolution of the 1st Commune Party Congress for the 2025-2030 term.

This goal was set out at the conference reviewing the training of Lao international students for the 2024-2025 academic year and outlining tasks for the 2025-2026 academic year, held by Hue College on the afternoon of December 23.

On October 31st, the 2025 Golf Course Owners - Vietnam Golf Tourism Development Conference was held at Laguna Lang Co, marking a strategic milestone as government representatives, investors, and international experts agreed on a Vision 2030 for sustainable development of golf tourism - emphasizing identity and quality as the foundation of Vietnam’s national competitiveness.

The coastal area in Hue, especially Chan May - Lang Co area, home to the economic zone of the same name, is emerging as a bright spot with the leading role in development not only within the locality, but also in inter-regional spread.

In his latest speech, Mr. Le Ngoc Tuan, Head of Hue City Forest Protection Department informed that the City People’s Committee has just decided to establish the Bac Hai Van Landscape Protection Zone, located in Chan May - Lang Co Commune.

May 2024 is also the 15th anniversary of Lang Co Bay being honored as the world's most beautiful bay. Over the past 15 years, with its brand, Lang Co has gradually attracted a large number of tourists to visit and relax, contributing to the province's tourism development.
