Flowing through the center of Hue City, the Huong River, a heritage river, is one of the iconic symbols of Hue Ancient Capital. Visitors to Hue will surely be enchanted not only by the Huong River but also by the peaceful, tranquil, and vibrant beauty of the Dong Ba River, the An Cuu River, and the Ngu Ha River, etc. This is why Hue is known as the “city of rivers”. On the morning of March 26th, People's Committee of Hue City held a technical traffic through opening ceremony for Nguyen Hoang Bridge (part of the Nguyen Hoang Road and Huong River Overpass project).

According to the information released on March 6 by Hue Academy of Music, Akatsuki music band from Japan will hold a traditional concert with the theme “Echoes of Culture” on the night of March 8 at Song Huong Theater (No.1 Le Loi St., Thuan Hoa District).

Along with the non-vegetarian banh goi (wrapped cakes) once offered to the emperor, vegetarian banh goi has been closely tied to the childhood of many generations of people from Huong Can Village (Huong Toan Commune, Huong Tra Town).

On the morning of February 8th (the 11th day of At Ty Lunar New Year, 2025), Trieu Son Dong Village council, in collaboration with Trieu Son Dong neighbourhood group (Huong Vinh Ward, Phu Xuan District), organized the Traditional Boat Racing Festival. The event celebrated Hue’s transition to a centrally-governed municipality as well as the 578th Memorial Day of the Founding Ancestors of Trieu Son Dong Village, while provided a festive atmosphere for locals to enjoy the Lunar New Year.

According to old tales, Bao Vinh blacksmithing craft (Huong Vinh Ward, Xuan Phu District) has a long history, originating from Hien Luong Village (Phong Dien Town), which was renowned for its traditional blacksmithing and ironworking.

On the afternoon of January 7, the People’s Committee of Huong Vinh Ward, Phu Xuan District held a ceremony to receive the certificate recognizing Bao Vinh forging craft as a traditional craft, which was awarded by Thua Thien Hue Provincial People’s Committee (Hue City People’s Committee for now).

On December 11, representatives of the provincial Department of Culture and Sports informed that the Minister of the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism announced the decision to include the Hue Nam Temple Festival (Huong Tho Commune, Hue City) and Van Cu noodle-making craft (Huong Toan Commune, Huong Tra Town) in the list of National Intangible Cultural Heritage.

The ceremony to honor the holy spirit of Mrs. Tran Thi Dao, who contributed greatly to the construction of the Thanh Toan tiled-roof bridge (Thuy Thanh Commune - Huong Thuy Town), took place on the evening of June 27th. The conclusion of the ceremony marked the official start of the “Countryside Market Festival” in response to Hue Festival 2024.

Beautiful custard apple varieties from Thailand, Taiwan, and even our own Vietnamese sugar apples grown and cared for by Mr. Nguyen Quang My, the owner of Quang My Garden, will be supplied to the market in Hue during this Lunar New Year. These are the "sweet fruits" after 2 years of Mr. My's hard work in transforming the land of Huong Tra hills to grow fruit trees for commercial purposes.
