According to the report of 2024 Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI) released by Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) recently, Hue City made a strong impression by entering the top 10 localities with the best economic governance quality in the country, scoring a total of 71.13 points, ranking 6th out of 63 provinces and cities.

Dozens of displaying booths promoting the culture and tourism of provinces and cities across the country gathered in Hue to participate in the exhibition themed “Space for Tourism, Cultural Heritage, Landmarks, and Traditional Handicraft Products of Vietnam”.

On the morning of April 25, according to the information announced by the Department of Tourism, from the result of Vietnam’s Provincial Tourism Development Index - VTDI 2024, Hue ranked 9th out of 30 provinces and cities included in the index’s scope of research.

In the 2024-2025 National Excellent Student Exam, students from Hue City achieved 85 awards, placing Thua Thien Hue among the top-performing provinces nationwide. This marks a record-breaking year with the highest number of national awards ever achieved by the city’s teams.

In Da Lay commune (Da Teh district, Lam Dong province), the new homeland of the people from Hue today, it is hard to recognize the traces of the hardships from nearly half a century ago. More than a year after the initial land clearing and village-building efforts, a new homeland for settlers from Hue City gradually began to take shape in the southernmost reaches of Lam Dong province. Around 3,000 households with thousands of residents were starting to settle into their new lives.

After the country was reunified, the Pioneering Youth force transitioned to a new mission: overcoming the consequences of war and contributing to economic development. On the evening of March 25, the opening ceremony of National Tourism Year (NTY) - Hue 2025 officially took place at the semi-realistic stage by the Huong River, marking the beginning of a series of cultural, sports, and tourism activities across provinces and cities throughout the country.

On the afternoon of February 25, in Hue City, the Management Units of the CarBi phase II project of Hue City and Quang Nam Province, in collaboration with the WWF - CarBi project, organized a conference to close the “Carbon and Biodiversity” (CarBi) phase II project, and launch the implementation of the Global Biodiversity Framework in the Central Annamites.

On November 30, 2024, the National Assembly passed the Resolution to establish Hue City under the Central Government from January 1, 2025, and the Resolution on the restructuring of district and commune-level administrative units of Hue City, in the 2023 - 2025 period. Hue City (under Thua Thien Hue Province) will be divided into two districts: Phu Xuan and Thuan Hoa.
