According to the plan recently issued by the People's Committee of Hue City, the 45th General Assembly of the International Association of Francophone Mayors (AIMF) in Hue is expected to be held for three days (from April 27 to April 29, 2025).

To provide the activities of the National Tourism Year - Hue 2025 to tourists, the tourism industry of the Imperial Ancient Capital, along with other units and businesses, has developed a plan to promote and introduce the events in a focus way, reaching both domestic and international markets.

After his elder brother Ho Viet Duc won the Gold Medal at the 31st International Biology Olympiad (IBO), 4 years later, his younger brother Ho Duc Trung also won the Silver Medal at the 35th IBO. This marked the first time in Thua Thien Hue (now Hue City), there are two siblings won international Olympic medals.

On February 22, Hue Dental Hospital (under the Department of Health) collaborated with Resurge International, Stanford University (USA), and the World Society for Reconstructive Microsurgery to conduct screenings for patients from Hanoi, Long An, Nha Trang, Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City, and other locations. This program is part of the breast reconstruction surgery week for post-cancer patients.

On the occasion of welcoming New Year and the Lunar New Year 2025, the Year of Snake, on the night of January 14, Hue City People’s Committee held a new year meeting party with the participation of international tourists, volunteers, experts, and foreign investors working in the city area.

Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long recently signed a decision approving the plan to implement the healthcare network development strategy for the 2021- 2030 period, prioritizing the development of six hospitals to meet international standards, including Hue Central Hospital (HCH). On the morning of January 1, Hue City Department of Tourism in collaboration with the Central Region Airport Authority at Phu Bai International Airport, Phu Bai International Airport, and the Vietnam Airlines branch in Hue, along with Pacific Airlines organized a program to welcome the first flight and visitors to Hue City in 2025. Renowned as an ancient heritage city, Hue has emerged as a popular destination for both domestic and international filmmakers. Every architectural structure, scenic spot, or landmark in Hue can serve as a backdrop for different genres of films, ranging from feature to short ones. This has more or less contributed to establishing a brand, significantly boosting local tourism.

On December 29th, Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) organized a ceremony to honor students who excelled in international Olympiads and science and technology competitions in 2024.

On the morning of December 28, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan had a meeting and commendation with the team of students who won prizes in the international Olympiad and Scientific and Technical Competitions 2024. Ho Duc Trung, an alumnus of Quoc Hoc Hue High school for the Gifted was awarded the Third-Class Labor Order for his achievement of winning the Silver Medal at the International Biology Olympiad.
