With the theme of “Hue - Ancient Capital, New Opportunities”, Hue is meticulously gearing up, mobilizing all resources to ensure the success of the National Tourism Year and create enduring value for the tourism industry in the years to come.

This information was shared at the expanded Executive Committee conference of Hue City Tourism Association, which summarized the tasks of 2024 and deployed tasks for 2025, on the afternoon of January 2.

On the first day of the new year, a ceremony to announce the National Tourism Year and Hue Festival 2025 was held at Ngo Mon Square by the People’s Committee of Hue City.

On the morning of January 1, Hue City Department of Tourism in collaboration with the Central Region Airport Authority at Phu Bai International Airport, Phu Bai International Airport, and the Vietnam Airlines branch in Hue, along with Pacific Airlines organized a program to welcome the first flight and visitors to Hue City in 2025. Attending the event was Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, Standing member of the City Party Committee and Permanent Vice Chairman of Hue City People’s Committee.

Renowned as an ancient heritage city, Hue has emerged as a popular destination for both domestic and international filmmakers. Every architectural structure, scenic spot, or landmark in Hue can serve as a backdrop for different genres of films, ranging from feature to short ones. This has more or less contributed to establishing a brand, significantly boosting local tourism.

Drawing from nearly 720 years of Thuan Hoa - Phu Xuan's heritage, Hue boasts a treasure trove of culinary excellence, offering a competitive advantage for tourism in the ancient capital. Becoming a centrally governed municipality brings Hue new opportunities, and alongside its fresh, vibrant identity, people will think of Hue as a culinary city where quintessence converges.

Highland markets in Thua Thien Hue are gradually establishing their unique role in the lives of ethnic minority communities. These markets serve as places for people to exchange goods, promote local products, and simultaneously boost tourism and socio-economic development.

Decision No. 3979/QD-BVHTTDL dated December 10, 2024 of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has recognized the “Van Cu noodle-making craft” being in the National Intangible Cultural Heritage List under the Traditional Handicraft category. This serves as a foundation for building an intangible cultural heritage profile with a national and international vision for Bun Hue (Hue noodles) culinary heritage in the coming time.

Within the closing ceremony of the Visit Vietnam Year - Dien Bien 2024 on the evening of December 22, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ho An Phong and the leaders of Dien Bien Province handed over the flag to Thua Thien Hue Province to host the Visit Vietnam Year 2025.

From the historical roots of Thuận Hóa - Phú Xuân nearly 720 years ago, Hue has inherited a rich culinary elite resource, offering a competitive edge for the ancient capital tourism. Achieving the status of a centrally governed municipality brings new opportunities for Hue.
