Despite having a thin workforce with increasingly older age groups, Hue’s young artists continue to make their mark on Vietnam's artistic map. In an interview with Hue Today Weekly, artist Nguyen Thien Duc, Chairman of Hue City Fine Arts Association, shared his views on the current situation, potential, and expectations for the next generation of Hue’s fine arts scene.

As the old saying goes, “vải Trạng cung Diên, nhãn lồng Phụng Tiên” (Trang Lychees from the Cung Dien area; spathe-wrapped longans from Phung Tien, a former royal garden district). In Da Lay commune (Da Teh district, Lam Dong province), the new homeland of the people from Hue today, it is hard to recognize the traces of the hardships from nearly half a century ago.
