These days, the festive atmosphere of the Mid-Autumn Festival is already filling the streets. From the skillful hands of craftsmen diligently working on unicorn heads, Earth God masks, and drums… to spectacular unicorn dance performances on competition stages and in welcoming spaces at the Imperial Citadel,… all come together to create a vibrant picture of the Mid-Autumn in the Ancient Capital, preserving the unique cultural beauty and leaving lasting impressions on visitors.

Drawing on the woodblock prints of traditional Vietnamese folk painting genres such as Dong Ho, Hang Trong, Kim Hoang, and Lang Sinh, the Woodblock Art Experience Space at 23-25 Le Loi Street brings visitors closer to traditional art. Beyond contemplating the artworks, visitors can try printing and coloring the woodblocks while discovering the stories and cultural values behind each piece.

More than three decades after UNESCO inscribed the Complex of Hue Monuments as a World Cultural Heritage Site (1993), nearly 200 structures and components have been restored, helping turn heritage into a resource for development in the new period.

At Vietnam - Japan Local Cooperation Forum 2026, the thematic session ‘From Heritage Conservation to Cultural Industries: Unlocking Potential and Connecting Opportunities for Local Cooperation’ highlighted how heritage is increasingly being seen as a resource for development when connected with communities, technology, tourism and cultural industries.

As part of activities promoting the Vietnam - Japan Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, on September 5, in Hue, the Vietnam - Japan Center for Cultural and Educational Cooperation Promotion (VJCE) coordinated with the Consulate General of Vietnam in Osaka to organize the Vietnam - Japan Education Exchange and Cooperation Program 2026.

By hosting the International Heritage and Music Festival - Hue Wonderverse Music Fest 2026, together with a wide range of activities, events, and festivals, Hue attracted large crowds of visitors for sightseeing and cultural experiences during the National Day Holiday.

On the morning of September 1, the 2026 Khe Tre Highland Market (third edition) under the theme ‘Spirit of Great Forest - Colors of Independence’ officially kicked off at the Co Tu Ethnic Traditional Cultural Village in Thuong Lo Village, Khe Tre Commune. The event offers visitors a space to experience the unique culture, cuisine, and specialties of the highlands during the National Day holiday (September 2).

On the morning of August 29, a series of cultural and educational events took place at the Ngo Mon Square, including a reenactment of the Truyen Lo Ceremony from the Nguyen Dynasty, the announcement of Hue’s Heritage Promotion Ambassador, and a ceremony honoring the ‘School Honor Students’ of the 2025 - 2026 academic year.

As the five-day National Day holiday approaches, featuring a vibrant lineup of cultural, artistic, sports, and experiential activities, Hue is expected to welcome over 500,000 tourist arrivals.

Hue is a heritage city, but Hue’s cultural strength does not lie solely in its citadel, palaces, royal tombs, or historic architecture. Behind these tangible forms of heritage lies a vibrant world of music, festivals, beliefs, traditional crafts, cuisine, clothing, and folk knowledge. This is the ‘soul’ that gives Hue its distinctive identity.

Before the summer break, Tran Quoc Toan Primary School organized a bicycle parade called "Cycling towards Van Thanh relic" for students. Early in the morning, more than 100 students, along with many parents and teachers, cycled through the picturesque roads along the Huong River.

At this place, visitors can also admire and purchase recreated royal products, intricate handmade items that showcase the beauty of folk art, or distinctive flavors of the former imperial capital.
