The lush lawns and shaded canopies of ancient trees in the Imperial Citadel, Co Ha Garden, or Thieu Phuong Garden are not naturally self-sustained. Behind that serene beauty lies the quiet dedication of dozens of workers who care daily for every tree and flowerbed, helping preserve the “green soul” of Hue’s heritage.

Truong Van Hung, a 12th-grade student from the Math specialized class 2 at Quoc Hoc Hue High School for the Gifted, has just become the top scorer of the A00 exam group of Hue City, the second-highest nationwide, and also the candidate with the highest total score among all exam group top-scorers in Hue City in the 2025 National High School Graduation Exam.

It was just another ordinary day at the Center for Nursing and Care for the Meritorious in Hue City - a place that welcomes revolution contributors, and policy beneficiaries each year. It is also a long-term home for dozens of war invalids, sick soldiers, and relatives of martyrs who have no one to rely on. The Center is currently caring for ten elderly women. Most of them live alone and have special circumstances, but here they are cared for with wholehearted attention and dedication.

Many mysteries have been revealed at the Lieu Coc Twin Towers relic site (located in Huong Xuan Ward, now Kim Tra Ward, Hue City) following the completion of the second phase of excavation in early July 2025. Noticeable was the opening of the oil painting exhibition by Hoang Nhu Thuy An at Lieu Quan Buddhist Cultural Center. Hoang Nhu Thuy An is Hoang Nhu Bua’s pseudonym, born in 1948, originally from Cau Hai (Cao Do) in Phu Loc, Hue, but currently living in Da Lat. The special thing is that all those paintings were painted after his stroke culminating in hemiplegia. He has learnt to paint with his left hand since then.

On July 15, the University of Education - Hue University held a graduation ceremony and awarded degrees to 5 new PhD candidates and 299 new Master candidates from courses 30, 31, and 32.

Hue Ancient Capital is a paradise for vegetarian cuisine. On the first and fifteenth days of the lunar month, even restaurants that usually serve meat often switch entirely to vegetarian dishes. This is hardly surprising, given that Hue is one of Vietnam’s major Buddhist centers, a land steeped in spiritual traditions, where eating vegetarian food has become a beautiful cultural feature.
