Among the highlights of this issue, the front page as well as pages 2 and 3 feature comprehensive coverage of the opening day of the second session of the 9th Hue City People's Council for the 2026 - 2031 term.

On the first working day of the second session of the 9th Hue City People's Council (July 10th), delegates heard Hue City People's Committee's report on the city's socio-economic performance; reviewed and approved a number of important resolutions aimed at achieving double-digit economic growth, promoting the heritage economy and digital technology, strengthening social welfare, and completing the restructuring of the administrative apparatus following the reorganization of administrative units.

In his opening remarks, Chairman of Hue City People's Council Pham Duc Tien called on delegates to uphold their responsibility to voters and the public by thoroughly studying the reports, submissions, and appraisal reports. He urged them to focus on analyzing the achievements made, identifying existing shortcomings, uncovering the underlying causes, and pinpointing the ‘bottlenecks’ hindering development so that practical, targeted solutions can be proposed and implemented immediately after the session.

Readers are invited to follow these and other key stories in this issue.

On page 7, Nguyen Khanh, a reporter, examines the appearance of numerous cracks and areas of subsidence at the junction between the approach road and the bridge deck of the Nhu Y River Bridge, which connects Zones A and B of the An Van Duong New Urban Area, despite the bridge having only recently been opened to temporary traffic-through. Following the report, on July 10, the Green Urban Project Management Board dispatched technical staff to inspect the bridge, assess conditions on site, and provide additional information regarding the issues concerned.
