Training in environmental protection and disaster risk reduction for religious organizations
HNN.VN - On the morning of December 5, the provincial Committee of the Vietnamese Fatherland Front coordinated with Phong Dien District People's Committee to organize a training workshop on knowledge of natural disaster risk management and environmental protection for religious organizations, together with agencies, departments, branches and groups in the district.
At the conference, basic contents on knowledge of natural disaster risk management and environmental protection were introduced to the delegates. The contents include frequent natural disasters associated with preventive and response measures; community-based disaster risk management; disaster prevention plan; "4 actions in place" guideline in disaster prevention; steps to assess disaster risk; the role and involvement of religious organizations in community-based disaster management and disaster relief and environmental protection; community-based disaster risk management policy; linkages between organizations in disaster response and relief management…
The training course aims at equipping and improving the knowledge, capacity and skills on natural disaster prevention, environmental protection, and raising public awareness on natural disaster prevention for religious organizations together with agencies, departments, branches and groups in Phong Dien district. Thereby, to find suitable and effective solutions to cope with, prevent and adapt to natural disasters in the community in order to minimize the damage when natural disasters happen.
