Equipping knowledge to respond to climate change

HNN.VN - The first summer course on climate protection, climate change and its consequences in Central Vietnam opened on September 29 at Green Hotel, Hue city. This is an activity within the framework of cooperation in scientific research and international cooperation between the Independent Institute for Environmental Issues (Berlin, Germany) and the Central Vietnam’s Institute for Scientific Research.

30 trainees of the course were young researchers and scientists from universities, centers and institutes of research on environment in Central Vietnam. The experts from Germany, the United States and Thailand provided knowledge and information on climate change-its causes, consequences and risks for the Southeast Asia region and the world; identifying Vietnam's intended nationally contribution to respond to climate change; global sea level rise and its consequences for Central Vietnam; energy crops in Vietnam and meteorological potentials ...
 
The course is participated by young domestic and internationally scientists
 

The course provides a bridge for international cooperation in climate change researching between institutes, universities, institutions and individuals so as to boost the process of adaptation to climate change in Central Vietnam. At the same time, it provides the latest knowledge on climate change for young people, helping the young generation of Central Vietnam better cope with climate change.
