Nearly 4 billion VND to strengthen flood tolerance ability

HNN.VN - Thua Thien Hue provincial People's Committeehas just approved a non-refundable aid project on "Strengthening flood tolerance in Hue urban area", funded by Earth and Environmental Sciences Institute, Postsdam University (Germany), with over 1.9 billion VND and implemented from 2017-2018.

The project aims to strengthen the ability to resist and adapt to climate change, manage natural disaster risk based on ecosystem and strengthen women's role in natural disaster preventionas well asclimate changeadaptation. The project proposes to invest in pilot improvement and maintenance ofwater drainage system, and of natural water storage in Hue city; to increase the ability of flood tolerance in urban area. 

Earth and Environmental Sciences Institute, Postsdam University (Germany) also granted a non-refundable fund of more than 2 billion VND to implement the project on improving climate change resistanceabilitysuch as floods for the coastal area of ​​Thua Thien Hue province. The project has been launched from 2017-2018 and implemented in Quang Dien district, Phu Vang district and Huong Tra town.
