Many trains are stuck as several railway sections through Hue are flooded

TTH.VN - Due to the heavy rain since the night of November 14 lasting up to now, several sections of the railway through Hue are deeply flooded and it causes many trains to be stuck, making them have to wait at nearby stations to ensure traffic safety.

 The railway section through Hien Sy – Van Xa is still deeply flooded

Specifically, at the sections of Hien Sy – Van Xa, Van Xa – Hue, Truoi – Huong Thuy, Thua Luu Lang Co, etc. there are some submerged portions on the railway track with a depth of 0.5m. The Railway Sector has had to close off these sections, banning trains to pass the flooded areas to ensure safety. At present, train SE3 is waiting at Hien Sy railway station with 324 passengers on board, while train SE19 is at Quang Tri railway station with 272 passengers on board. Train SE1 is at Dong Ha railway station. There are 198 passengers waiting on this train, and SE6 is at Da Nang railway station with 247 passengers on board.

Ms. Ngo Thi Thuyet, Head of the Railway Transport Branch in Hue said that currently, relevant authorities have stationed at stations where the trains stop, concurrently coordinating with the Railway Department to ensure order and safety on trains, at stations, and ensure safety for passengers traveling by trains.

Mr. Le Hong Hai, Director of Binh Tri Thien Railway Joint Stock Company informed that at present, rain is still ongoing in the area of Thua Thien Hue province, the railway sections through the towns of Huong Tra, Huong Thuy, and Phu Loc district are still deeply flooded. In response to this situation, the unit is actively monitoring the flooded railway sections, at the same time they are always ready to coordinate to support passengers stranded at stations if the railway sector offers a road transport plan.

On November 30, the National Assembly issued Resolution No. 175/2024/QH15 regarding the establishment of Hue City as a centrally governed municipality (NQ175). Simultaneously, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly issued Resolution 1314/NQ-UBTVQH15 on the arrangement of district- and commune-level administrative units in Hue City for the 2023–2025 period (NQ 1314). These resolutions will take effect on January 1, 2025.
