At the 2025 National Championships for Athletes with Disabilities (September 7th - 14th in Ho Chi Minh City), Hue City has six athletes and two coaches (one on-site, one providing remote guidance) participated in two sports: swimming and chess.
During the competition, all six athletes from Hue City won medals. In swimming: Nguyen Thai Duong (bronze in the 50m butterfly, bronze in the 50m backstroke, and gold in the 50m freestyle); Le Hieu (bronze in the 100m butterfly); Tran Van Luan (bronze in the 50m breaststroke). In chess: Vo Van Duy - Le Quang Tuyen (bronze in the rapid team event); Vo Van Duy - Hoang Xuan Thu (bronze in the blitz team event).
Notably, Nguyen Thai Duong’s gold medal in the 50m freestyle has raised hopes for the revival of Hue’s para-sports after many years without reaching the top podium at this national-level competition.
At the award ceremony, through ADSDO, Vo Si Dan - Chairman of the Vietnamese Solidarity Association in France - presented five scholarships, each worth VND 4 million, to orphaned students in difficult circumstances.
