Job fair for people with disabilities

HNN.VN - On December 20th, the Provincial Employment Service Center, in collaboration with the Action to the Community Development Center (ACDC), organized a job fair for people with disabilities (PWD) under the theme “Opportunities for Everyone”. This event is part of the Inclusion 1 project, funded by USAID, which aims to improve the quality of life for people with disabilities in areas heavily affected by Agent Orange during the war.

 19 companies offering over 900 job opportunities at the event

Speaking at the event, Mr. Ho Dan - Deputy Director of the Department of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs emphasized that the job fair for people with disabilities is a key initiative in the province's efforts to create employment opportunities, enhance living standards, and support social integration for people with disabilities. This is not just a community-focused activity but also a reflection of the Party and State's attention to caring for and protecting the rights of people with disabilities, enabling them to confidently participate in the labor market and showcase their skills and talents.

In recent years, the province has consistently implemented policies and programs to support people with disabilities, particularly in vocational training, job placement, and assisting businesses employing people with disabilities. This support comes not only from government agencies but also from businesses, social organizations, and philanthropists who have been accompanying in creating opportunities for people with disabilities to thrive in life.

At the job fair, 19 companies, organizations and over 100 people with disabilities had joined the connection, with more than 900 job vacancies being offered. The event provided people with disabilities with opportunities to find suitable jobs and secure stable incomes while creating spiritual values, fostering their independence, confidence, and contributions to the broader development of society.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Lan Anh, Director of ACDC, highlighted that the job fair for people with disabilities is annually held with the aim to raise awareness among agencies, sectors, and the community about disabilities and contribute to breaking down barriers and enhancing independent living as well as social integration for people with disabilities. True to the “Opportunities for Everyone” theme, the event focuses on guiding and expanding job-seeking opportunities for people with disabilities, enabling them to find suitable positions that match their abilities, build confidence, live independently, and integrate into the community. Ms. Lan Anh also stressed that businesses and production facilities' willingness to employ people with disabilities plays a vital role in ensuring job opportunities for all, leaving no one behind.
