According to the information from Hue Central Hospital, on June 13, immediately after receiving organ donation information from the National Organ Transplant Coordination Center about a brain-dead donor due to a traffic accident at Thong Nhat Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City, Prof. Dr. Pham Nhu Hiep, Director of Hue Central Hospital, promptly dispatched a team of 7 doctors to Thong Nhat Hospital. They coordinated with the hospital's resuscitation team, the National Organ Transplant Coordination Center, the organ transplant team from Central Military Hospital 108, and Children's Hospital 2 to conduct a consultation to assess brain death and the resuscitation plan to maintain the functions of potentially donated organs.

At 3:33 p.m., the organ donor patient was taken to the operating room, and multi-organ retrieval surgery was performed at 4:08 p.m. With the smooth coordination among the teams and the active support of the National Organ Transplant Coordination Center, Vietnam Airlines, and Ho Chi Minh City Police, the heart was transported to Hue Central Hospital in the shortest possible time.

Subsequently, the heart was transplanted into N.V.Q, the patient, who suffered from end-stage dilated cardiomyopathy with very poor response to medical treatment and very low left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) of 17-21%. At the Cardiovascular Center of Hue Central Hospital, the heart transplant team began anesthesia and resuscitation for the recipient patient, and performed the 18th heart transplant.

After 25 days since the heart transplant, on July 8, the patient N.V.Q was officially discharged. This transplant once again affirmed the smooth coordination and determination of doctors and medical staff at Hue Central Hospital in their journey to bring life to patients.
