On March 12, Hue Central Hospital announced that the 15th patient to receive a heart transplant across Vietnam has recovered. This was a complex transplant case, making the surgical procedure and post-operative care quite challenging for the doctors and medical staff.

The heart donated from Bach Mai Hospital has begun to beat its first rhythms in the body of a patient, marking a successful journey of life transfer. This is a record-breaking transplant, with the heart implantation taking just over 50 minutes at Hue Central Hospital.

The donated organ from a 65-year-old woman, who was relatively lightweight from Hai Duong; the time of cold ischemia during transport across Vietnam was minimized; and the need to dissect the entire heart and major blood vessels before transplantation... These challenges were overcome by the medical team at Hue Central Hospital (HCH), bringing life to a patient with end-stage heart failure.

On May 9, at Hue Central Hospital, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Phuong bestowed a certificate of merit of the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to the team of the trans-Vietnam heart transplantation as the case had been successfully performed by the experts of the Hospital.
