Accordingly, a total of 4,038 health insurance cards were donated across the city by Vietnam Social Security in cooperation with sponsors, including the Vietnam Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Agribank), the Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV), the Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam (Vietcombank), and the Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Industry and Trade (VietinBank).
Of these, over 1,200 health insurance cards were given to students to protect and care for the health of future generations. The remaining cards were prioritized for households in difficult circumstances, ethnic minority residents, and families that have recently escaped poverty.
Within this figure, 596 health insurance cards were allocated to residents of Nam Dong Commune. Among these, on the morning of December 3, 50 cards were presented directly to local people in difficult circumstances who did not yet have health insurance. These beneficiaries had been identified and listed by local Party Committees and authorities for card support. The remaining cards will be processed and newly issued by Phu Loc Social Security Office and promptly delivered to residents so they can use them for medical examinations and treatment.
Speaking at the donation ceremony, Mr. Chu Manh Sinh, Deputy Director of Vietnam Social Security, emphasized that the program of providing health insurance cards to people in difficult circumstances is not only a material contribution but also a source of moral encouragement. It helps ease the burden of medical expenses for disadvantaged individuals and supports them in gradually stabilizing their finances. The distribution of health insurance cards also contributes to strengthening people’s sense of security and deep trust in the social welfare policies of the Party and the State.
On this occasion, in an effort to share the difficulties and losses that residents are facing after the recent natural disaster, Vietnam Social Security also presented a cash donation worth 50 million VND to help people of Nam Dong Commune stabilize their lives as soon as possible. The total value of the donated health insurance cards and cash across the entire city amounts to nearly 1.39 billion VND.
