Picking off leaves for yellow apricots

HNN.VN - In order for yellow apricots to bloom in time to welcome Tet, in these days, Hue Green Park Center is mobilizing human and material resources to pick leaves off apricot trees in the gardens along Le Duan Street and in front of the Hue Imperial Citadel.

The workers selected to do this job, in addition to technique, must also have ingenuity and gentleness to avoid breaking buds, damaging branches, and affecting yellow apricots.

According to those who have experience in growing yellow apricots, as well as experts on green trees, in order for apricots to blossom on the occasion of New Year, the most suitable time to pick off leaves is from mid-November of the lunar calendar. However, this is highly dependent on the weather. If it’s too sunny, the time to pick off leaves will be delayed a bit, or it will be pushed on earlier if the cold rain lasts a long time.

This year, the weather is considered to be quite favorable, so, it’s a suitable time to pick off leaves now to have a brilliant Tet season with yellow apricots, according to Hue Green Park Center.

Thua Thien Hue Weekly would like to introduce some pictures of picking leaves off the yellow apricots in front of the Hue Imperial Citadel and along Le Duan Street by Phan Thanh, the photographer, as a way to share a little more experience of growing apricots to welcome Tet for those who are interested in.
