Nearly 1,800 students participated in the 1st STEM festival

HNN.VN - On the afternoon of May 20, Faculty of Engineering and Technology - Hue University coordinated with Nguyen Hue High School to organize the first STEM Festival, 2023. This is the first STEM Festival held in the province, attracting nearly 1,800 students to participate.

The STEM Festival had 3 competitions, including making water rockets, designing and manufacturing LED products, creating and programming of robots. The competition attracted 14 participating teams. Teams competed together through qualifying rounds and the judges selected the best teams to enter the final round.

This is an opportunity for students to better understand STEM education as well as to be free to create and express their abilities through perfecting STEM products. The program also had the booths to introduce STEM education of the training units in the field of science, engineering and technology in the province. There were many products for students to experience, such as artificial intelligence robots and Cokey Rocky Robots, virtual reality (VR), artificial intelligence game applications under the guidance of students from the Faculty of Engineering and Technology - Hue University.

The first STEM Festival 2023 belongs to the series of events of the project to support the STEM education program at senior high schools - an educational project developed and implemented by the Faculty of Engineering and Technology - Hue University with experts and enterprises in the period of 2022 - 2025. This is an important program in the context of STEM education - an educational model that teaches students knowledge and skills in the fields of science, engineering, technology and math is now becoming one of the focus of the new general education curriculum.

Dr. Nguyen Quang Lich, Dean of Faculty of Engineering and Technology - Hue University emphasized that this meaningful educational activity received a lot of support from businesses and units during the implementation process. This is an opportunity for the unit to share resources of higher education with society and connect training between levels, close the gap between university and high school training through the main force being the students.
