HNN.VN - On June 23rd, Hue Odonto-Stomatology Hospital officially launched a free reconstructive surgery program for patients with craniofacial deformities.  Patient screening

On the morning of the opening day, more than 30 patients from various provinces and cities including Hue, Ha Tinh, Thanh Hoa, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, and Quang Nam underwent screening and received professional consultations. The first surgeries are scheduled to begin on June 24th.

Eligible participants include patients with jawbone asymmetries such as protruding jaws, receding jaws, and facial asymmetry; patients with cleft lip and palate sequelae such as lip scars, nasal wing retraction, and alveolar bone defects; as well as those with more complex deformities like craniofacial clefts and ear deformities. All surgeries are performed free of charge by a team of leading experts from the United States and experienced doctors of Hue Odonto-Stomatology Hospital.

Cleft lip and palate is one of the most common congenital deformities in children. This condition not only affects facial aesthetics but also causes numerous functional disorders such as difficulty breastfeeding, choking, speech disorders, respiratory illnesses, and psychological impacts. Early surgical intervention through reconstructive procedures significantly improves the craniofacial structure, restores the ability to eat and speak, and offers patients the chance to reintegrate into society.

Through this program, Hue Odonto-Stomatology Hospital not only helps patients gain a new appearance but also demonstrates its humanitarian commitment and social responsibility in community healthcare.
