Hue Karate “returns” after 2 decades
HNN.VN - After five days of intense and thrilling competition, the 2025 National Karate Championship concluded on the afternoon of June 30th at Hue City Central Sports Arena.

The top three overall team positions went to: Hanoi (4 golds, 7 silvers, 3 bronzes); Military team (3 golds, 2 silvers, 6 bronzes); Hue City (3 golds, 2 silvers, 4 bronzes).
Hue, the host city, earned its 3 gold medals thanks to the efforts of: Le Minh Thuan (Kumite, over 86kg category), Ho Dinh Thuan (Kumite, 78kg category) and Men’s Team (Kumite).
With these achievements, Hue Karate is hopeful of securing more than one spot at the 33rd SEA Games, which will be held later this year in Thailand.
Moreover, finishing third overall also marks the return of Hue Karate after nearly two decades of “relative silence” at the highest level of the national karate competition system.
The 2025 National Karate Championship kicked off on June 26th in Hue City, drawing nearly 500 athletes from 34 provinces, cities, and sectors nationwide. They competed for 30 sets of medals across weight categories ranging from 44kg to over 68kg (women) and from 50kg to over 86kg (men) in two events: Kata (forms) and Kumite (sparring).
