Hue City launches photo contest “Hue traditional crafts - Source of heritage"

Foreign tourists experiencing incense making at the Exhibition Space, introducing traditional craft products and experiences at 15 Le Loi Street.

With the theme “Hue Traditional Crafts - Source of Heritage”, the contest aims to capture the beauty in the production process and products of traditional crafts, craft villages, and traditional craft villages in Thua Thien Hue in general and Hue City in particular, as recognized by the provincial People's Committee. It also includes other handicrafts and craft villages that create products imbued with national cultural identity. The works will highlight artisans as "living" heritage, preserving and promoting the essence of traditional crafts, as well as tourists experiencing and participating in these crafts. The images will also honor the crafts and craft villages during various events.

Participants can be photography enthusiasts, both amateur and professional photographers nationwide, with photos taken in Thua Thien Hue. The submission period is from now until October 25th, 2024. Online judging is scheduled from October 26th to November 5th, 2024, with the exhibition opening and award ceremony expected at the end of November 2024.

The contest aims to reflect, portray, and preserve the beauty of Hue's crafts as well as craft villages. It contributes to the conservation and promotion of Hue's traditional craft values, stimulates the preservation and development of these crafts, and promotes Hue's unique beauty, boosting tourism and enhancing the city's image and status, providing a platform for photography lovers and Hue enthusiasts. Through the contest, outstanding photos will be selected for exhibitions, media purposes, and promotional activities showcasing Hue's culture and people, preparing for the Hue Traditional Craft Festival in 2025.
