The training was conducted in four localities: Dan Dien Commune, Quang Dien Commune, Duong No Ward and An Cuu Ward. Each session lasted half a day and involved around 40 participants, including village heads, residential group leaders and members of commune and village levels disaster prevention and response teams.
Trainers from Hue City Sub-Department of Water Resources and Climate Change provided participants with guidance on how to access, obtain and use rain and flood warning information for disaster prevention and response in residential areas. Particular attention was given to rainfall levels, river water levels, identifying flood marks, storms and tropical depressions, as well as warning signals from sirens.
The training helps improve the ability of grassroots personnel to receive warning information and communicate it to local residents, particularly during heavy rainfall, flooding and other dangerous natural disasters.
Previously, Hue City Sub-Department of Water Resources and Climate Change had also provided Dan Dien Commune, Quang Dien Commune, Duong No Ward and An Cuu Ward with eight aluminium boats, 800 life jackets and 80 sets of scaffolding frames to strengthen their preparedness for storms and floods.
Equipping grassroots personnel with skills to access and use disaster warning information, together with providing aluminium boats, life jackets and scaffolding frames, is considered an important measure to strengthen disaster response capacity and ensure that warnings reach local residents in a timely manner, thereby helping minimize loss of life and property during the 2026 rainy and flood season.
