The competition consisted of two rounds: preliminary and final. Out of 115 teams with 345 students in the preliminary round, 11 teams comprising 33 students advanced to the final.

Teams were divided into 2 brackets and paired by draw for knockout debates. One team argued in support of the motion, while the other presented the opposing view based on the topic drawn.

With topics close to students’ daily lives, such as learning, family and friendships, social behavior, as well as cultural and environmental issues…, the teams showcased confident English communication, presenting clear arguments and persuasive rebuttals.

The debates allowed students to showcase their English proficiency while presenting diverse perspectives on real-life issues, helping spark greater interest in foreign language learning in schools.

In the digital age and amid the trend of global integration, foreign language education in schools is shifting from simply mastering a language to using it effectively for learning other subjects and for future careers. Students are expected to use foreign languages proficiently while developing critical thinking, teamwork skills, and the confidence to defend their viewpoints on real-world issues.

After a day of lively competition, the organizing committee presented 11 awards to participating teams, including 2 First Prizes, 2 Second Prizes, 4 Third Prizes, and 3 Consolation Prizes. Both First Prizes, from the two brackets, went to teams from Nguyen Tri Phuong Secondary School.
