Attending the ceremony were over 20 international guests and nearly 200 domestic delegates who are experts, scientists, and thousands of students studying at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hue University.
Hue Science Festival is a series of activities taking place from October to December, 2024 with various activities, such as “International Cooperation in Biomedicine Research”, “Communication and Raising community awareness on First Aid, Initial Treatment, and Disaster Respond”, “Kicking off the project of Reducing Malnutrition Rates in Children under 5 through Consultation for Ethnic Women in Thua Thien Hue province”, “Community Rehabilitation Activities”, etc. These activities aim to strengthen and develop the close cooperation between the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hue University, and traditional international partners, as well as expanding bilateral and multilateral cooperation networks towards the goal of reaching international cooperation for community health.
The main and most important event of the 2024 Hue Science Festival is the 1st International Biomedicine Conference. With the theme “Biomedicine for One Health”, the conference has gathered leading experts in the field of biomedicine from countries around the world (Italy, Australia, Japan, South Korea, Lithuania, etc.), as well as domestic scientists from across the country. The conference aims to share the latest researches and discuss important issues related to human and animal health.

The theme “Biomedicine for One Health” emphasizes the importance of connecting human, animal health, and the environment in the context of globalization and current climate change. During the conference, various activities are taking place, including scientific presentations from leading experts; thematic discussions on biomedicine, public health and the environment; an exhibition of new technologies and products in the field of biomedicine; and exchange sessions among scientists, researchers, graduate students, and undergraduates.
During this conference, there was also a ceremony for the conferral of Master’s degrees in Biomedicine Technology for the 7th and 8th classes - a joint training program between the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hue University, and the University of Sassari, Italy. Additionally, a ceremony is held to honor the outstanding scientific and technological intellectuals of 2024, with Professor Pier Luigi Fiori from the University of Sassari, Italy, receiving recognition from the Union of Science and Technology Associations of Thua Thien Hue Province.
Before and after the main event, the 2024 Hue Science Festival will continue with other satellite activities, such as the kick-off ceremony for the project on “Reducing Malnutrition Cases in Children Under 5”, the forum “Communication Rehabilitation Across Asia” scheduled to take place on December 14-15, the “Neurological Rehabilitation After Stroke” session, and a discussion on the network and the future of phonic therapy in Vietnam and Laos. The Healthfair, which is scheduled to take place on December 20-21, will feature key activities like first aid training for cardiac arrest, stroke, trauma, burns, foreign object choking, neonatal resuscitation, and school accidents.
The 2024 Hue Science Festival will conclude with an important conference organized by the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hue University on December 20th. The conference will focus on summarizing the scientific and technological achievements from 2019 to 2024 and developing a strategy for the advancement of science and technology for the period of 2025-2029.
