At the ceremony, delegates solemnly offered incense, expressing profound gratitude for the immense contributions of Monk Tue Tinh to the nation’s traditional medicine. He is credited with laying the foundation for the philosophy of “Southern medicine for Southern people”, advocating the use of indigenous herbs to treat Vietnamese patients. His renowned medical works, including Nam Duoc Than Hieu and Hong Nghia Giac Tu Y Thu, continue to hold enduring value and serve as a vital foundation for the study and development of traditional medicine today.
Beyond being an eminent physician, Monk Tue Tinh was also a shining exemplar of medical ethics, always placing patients’ health and lives above all else. At the ceremony, participants revisited his life, career, and enduring humanistic values, thereby fostering a sense of pride and responsibility in preserving and promoting the rich legacy of Vietnam’s traditional medicine.
A representative of Hue Association of Traditional Medicine noted that the commemorative ceremony is not only an occasion to pay tribute to predecessors but also an opportunity for traditional medicine practitioners to further uphold the tradition of gratitude and remembrance, while continuously improving both medical ethics and professional expertise. The association also emphasized that in the coming time, it will promote the effective integration of traditional and modern medicine, contributing to improved healthcare quality and better meeting the growing needs of the public.
