Promoting heroic tradition, stably moving forward in the new era

HNN.VN - On the afternoon of August 11, Hue City Party Committee, People’s Council - People’s Committee - Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the City held a ceremony to mark the 80th anniversary of the Traditional Day of the People’s Public Security Force (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and the 20th anniversary of the National Day of All People Protecting National Security (August 19, 2005 - August 19, 2025) at the City Cultural - Cinema Center.

Attending the event were Mr. Le Truong Luu, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the People’s Council, and Head of the city’s National Assembly Delegation; members of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee; representatives of the police leaders from the Lao provinces of Salavan, Sekong, Champasak, and Savannakhet; Heroes of the People’s Armed Forces; Vietnamese Heroic Mothers; and leaders of Hue City Police from different periods, etc.

Exactly 80 years ago, the People’s Public Security Force was born in the fervent atmosphere of the August Revolution of 1945. Alongside the glorious history of the nation, Hue City Police have continuously trained, fought, and grown stronger.

Entering the period of renovation, in their core role, the city’s police has focused on advising Party Committees and local authorities at all levels to launch broad and effective movements for all people to protect national security. They have been the vanguard on the front lines of maintaining political security and social order and safety. With a proactive and innovative spirit, the police force has promptly detected and handled numerous complex cases, broke many major criminal operations, and eliminated dangerous criminal gangs. At the same time, they have taken the initiative in making strong advances in administrative reform, digital transformation, and modernization of the force, leading the way in streamlining the organizational apparatus to make it more compact, efficient, and effective.

With these excellent achievements, Hue City Police has been conferred the title of Hero of the People’s Armed Forces. Furthermore, they have been awarded 2 Ho Chi Minh Orders, 3 Military Merit Orders, and hundreds of other orders. Additionally, 15 collectives and 29 individuals have been conferred or posthumously awarded the title of Hero of the People’s Armed Forces, and thousands of other collectives and individuals have been commended and praised by various authorities, sectors, and the people, etc.

On behalf of city leaders, Secretary of the City Party Committee Le Truong Luu praised and acknowledged the achievements, as well as the dedication and sacrifices of generations of City Police throughout the 80-year journey.

In the coming time, Hue City will continue to be the host to political events, as well as the main festivals of the country. Furthermore, the city is also implementing mechanisms to attract investment for economic development, hence, setting increasingly high demands on ensuring security and order to serve socio-economic growth. Secretary of the City Party Committee Le Truong Luu called on the city’s police force to continue upholding the heroic, steadfast, and indomitable traditions of generations of officers to maintain unity, strive for training. Furthermore, they have to compete to achieve even greater accomplishments and victories.

In particular, Hue City Police needs to proactively stay well-informed of the situation and promptly advise Party committees and local authorities on implementing measures to ensure national security and social order and safety; curb and reduce crime; and maintain a peaceful environment to serve economic development and foreign affairs. At the same time, they should promote the application of science and technology, digital transformation, and administrative procedure reform; enhance the effectiveness of state management over social order; and continue building a police force that is “elite - streamlined - strong - efficient - effective”, with a professional, highly skilled, and modern, etc.

It is known that the immediate task for Hue City Police is to ensure absolute security and safety for activities celebrating the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025) and other important events. Among these, the most significant is the 17th Congress of the Hue City Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term, in preparation for the 14th National Congress of the Party.

In recognition of the outstanding achievements and victories over 80 years of building, fighting, and growing, the City Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee presented Hue City Police with a ceremonial banner bearing the content: “Promoting the tradition of a heroic unit - Sacrificing for the nation, serving the people -Steadfastly entering an era of strength and prosperity”.

Additionally, 2 collectives and 6 individuals from Hue City Police were also awarded certificates of merit by the Ministry of Public Security, while 5 collectives and 5 individuals received certificates of merit from the Chairman of the City People’s Committee.
