Awarding prizes for the photo contest “Hue Traditional Crafts - the Lifeblood of Heritage”

HNN.VN - On December 12, the People’s Committee of Hue City held a ceremony to award prizes and open the exhibition of the photo contest “Hue Traditional Crafts - the Lifeblood of Heritage” 2024.

Launched at the end of July 2024, the contest is held to introduce and promote the quintessence and identity of Hue traditional crafts, contributing to the preservation and development of traditional crafts in the provincial area. After the launching time, the organizing committee received 561 quality works from 56 photographers coming from 11 provinces and cities nationwide.

Going through 5 rounds of judging, the organizing committee selected 62 typical works showcasing various traditional crafts for the exhibition. After the 7th and 8th judging rounds, the organizing committee selected 11 excellent works of 8 photographers to award prizes, including 1 first prize, 2 second prizes, 3 third prizes, and 5 consolation prizes. The works participating in the photo contest vividly depicted the daily life and vibrant images of craft villages in modern society, as well as showcasing the diligent work of artisans to create products for the community.

At the awarding ceremony, the organizing committee presented certificates to 26 authors whose works were selected for the exhibition. Besides that, they also awarded and gave certificates to 3 authors winning the public voting on the fan page. Additionally, 11 prizes were awarded based on the judgment’s evaluation, and 6 first prizes, second prizes, and third prizes were presented certificates from Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists. Notably, the work “Passing down the Craft to the Next Generations” by the photographer Le Huy Hoang Hai was honored to win the first prize, while 2 second prizes were awarded to Nguyen Thi Thanh Nhan with the work “Making rice cakes” and Phan Thi Xuan Mai with the work “Bustling Work on the fields”.

After the awarding ceremony, the organizing committee also cut the ribbon to open the exhibition of the photo contest “Hue Traditional Crafts - the Lifeblood of Heritage” 2024 to serve locals and tourists.

Addressing the awarding ceremony, Deputy Chairman of the Hue City People’s Committee Truong Dinh Hanh said that Hue is a land blessed by nature, with many beautiful landscapes and various typical cultural heritage. This land is also the place where various artisans and quintessence of traditional crafts gather across the country. Therefore, the photo contest “Hue Traditional Craft - the Lifeblood of Heritage” was held to showcase and preserve the beauty of traditional crafts and craft villages, as well as the handicrafts of Hue, contributing to preserving and promoting the values of Hue traditional crafts, at the same time enhancing the conservation and development of crafts and craft villages and creating a healthy playground to those in love with photography and in love with Hue.
