 Athletes compete at the tournament

This year's tournament attracted 450 athletes from 46 participating units across the city. Among them, 28 units represented communes and wards, while 18 were secondary schools directly under the Department of Education and Training. Athletes competed in a variety of events, including the men's and women's 50-meter freestyle and 50-meter breaststroke competitions for primary, junior and senior high school students.

The event is an annual sporting activity organized by the education sector to provide students with a healthy recreational platform. It also contributes to promoting swimming in schools, improving physical fitness, enhancing survival skills, and strengthening students’ ability to adapt to aquatic environments. The large number of participants reflects the growing interest of local authorities, schools, and parents in physical education and the development of school sports.

In recent years, special attention has also been given to preventing child drowning. Expanding access to safe swimming skills and drowning prevention training for students is regarded as a practical solution to reducing accidents and injuries while protecting children's health and lives.

According to the Organizing Committee, in addition to promoting school swimming activities, the tournament also serves as an opportunity to find and select talented students for further training, thereby strengthening the city's pool of athletes for regional and national competitions.
