5 newborns at New Year’s Eve

HNN.VN - As the clock stroke midnight on New Year’s Eve, a newborn came to the world with his first cry at the Department of Obstetrics, Hue Central Hospital.

Laboring at the moment of transferring to the (Lunar) new year 2019, 32-year-old pregnant woman named Ho Thi Da Thao, from Huong Vinh, Huong Tra, Thua Thien Hue for the second time gave birth to her son as the clock stroke midnight. With the method “skin-to-skin contact” of Dr. Chau Khac Tu (Ph.D.), Head of the Department of Obstetrics, Hue Central Hospital, was in charge of the caesarean section as the patient was in severe pain, having history of C-section 5 years ago and she was at risk of uterine rupture.

The baby weighed 3.7kg, crying loudly. After that, he was placed on his mother's chest after being born, then was embraced by Nguyen Dac Phuong Bao (his father) wholeheartedly. Mr. Phuong Bao shared: "It is extremely happy that he was born in this meaningful moment. My emotions are indescribable. I hope luck and peace always come to him in the new year. "

After the son of Ms. Thao was born in that special moment, the Department of Obstetrics admitted 4 more babies, including 2 boys and 2 girls. Dr. Chau Khac Tu and his colleagues, who directly delivered the first little citizens, happily sent their best wishes to the families of the new-born babies for a new year of prosperity and happiness.

Dr. Chau Khac Tu shared that although he has experienced many times being on-call during the Tet holidays, it was much happier to deliver the first babies of the new year. According to Dr. Tu, it is expected that on this Tet holidays, about 20 new babies would be born in Hue Central Hospital.
