Enhancing water safety skills for children

HNN.VN - The training course on implementing the “Safe Swimming and Drowning Prevention” Program 2026, organized by the city’s Department of Culture and Sports in coordination with the Vietnam Sports Administration (the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism), officially opened on the morning of April 17 at 12 Hung Vuong Street (Thuan Hoa Ward, Hue City).

 Drowning prevention for children has consistently remained a focal point of concern for all levels and sectors

At the training course, nearly 140 participants, including officials, civil servants, public employees, teachers, coaches, instructors, and sports collaborators from 10 provinces, cities, sectors, and enterprises… nationwide, are being equipped by lecturers and experts with State regulations as well as knowledge and skills related to drowning prevention, safe rescue techniques for children, water rescue theory, and emergency first aid for drowning victims.

According to Mr. Bui Thanh Dung, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Sports, the course aims to foster the mass sports movement, as well as swimming practice movement to build a core team of officials and instructors for provinces, cities, and sectors; and raise awareness about the benefits of swimming practice, and essential water safety skills…

In addition, the training contents will help trainees gain a clearer understanding of the Party and State’s viewpoints, guidelines, and policies regarding swimming instruction and drowning prevention for children, as well as the planning, organizing, and implementing safe swimming and drowning prevention programs for children at units and localities…

The training course is scheduled to run until April 22.
