The tomb area of Nghi Thien Chuong Queen Tu Du (also known as Xuong Tho Tomb) belongs to the complex of relics of Emperor Thieu Tri's tomb, the eternal resting place of Dowager Queen Tu Du (Pham Thi Hang). She was the eldest daughter of Duke Pham Dang Hung, a rites minister; and her mother was Madam Pham Thi. She was the wife major of Emperor Thieu Tri, and the mother of Emperor Tu Duc.

The tomb was built in the early years of the twentieth century, located in the overall landscape of Emperor Thieu Tri's tomb, with a layout in the direction of “noi quan, ngoai quach” (“the coffin inside and the sarcophagus outside"). This is also a typical architectural form from the Nguyen Emperors. After more than 100 years of existence, although its overall is still quite intact, the integrity of the monument has been significantly affected under the impact of history and adverse natural environmental conditions (hot, humid, and rainy, etc.).

Deputy Director of Hue Monuments Conservation Center Phan van Tuan informed that the project, after completion, would make an important contribution to completing the overall architecture - landscape - culture and art of Emperor Thieu Tri's tomb. By that, visitors will have an additional extremely attractive destination, and the value of tourism exploitation in the locality will be gradually improved.
