Leaders of Phu Loc Commune unveil the Spring 2026 mascot - “Linh Ma Bach Van”

The Spring 2026 mascot “Linh Ma Bach Van”, depicted as a white winged horse, bears a strong mark of creativity, embodying cultural and historical values as well as the development aspirations of the locality.

The choice of a white winged horse not only creates a decorative highlight for the traditional Lunar New Year, but also originates from the legend of Bach Ma Mountain - a sacred symbol closely associated with the land of Phu Loc. According to local elders, the peak of Bach Ma is shrouded in clouds year-round, resembling a fairyland where immortals once rode white horses on leisurely journeys. One day, while engrossed in a chess game, the horses strayed deep into the forest. When the immortals ascended to the heavens, the horses transformed into drifting white clouds among the high mountains. From then on, the mountain came to be known as Bach Ma (White Horse).

This legend not only explains the mountain’s name, but also conveys humanity’s aspiration to rise and flourish amid majestic nature. Today, Bach Ma - an ASEAN Heritage Park has become a symbol of nature conservation, biodiversity preservation, and the locality’s orientation toward sustainable development.

Drawing from this cultural source, the image of Linh Ma Bach Van was chosen as the Spring mascot with multiple layers of meaning: the white horse (Bach Ma) symbolizes strength, perseverance, and continuity of tradition; the wings represent the aspiration to break through, soar high, and reach far; and the new spring embodies renewed momentum, confidence, and new victories.

The Spring mascot not only beautifies the festive space and creates a cultural check-in point for residents and visitors, but also reflects the spirit of innovation, solidarity, and determination for development shared by the Party Committee, local authorities, and people of Phu Loc Commune in the new year. The mascot is installed at the beginning of Luong Dinh Cua Street, at the entrance to the Phu Loc Commune Cultural Center and Phu Loc High School.

According to the plan, the series of activities celebrating the Party and welcoming the Spring of Binh Ngo 2026 in Phu Loc Commune will include key events such as: display of the Binh Ngo Spring mascot; organization of the Lunar New Year flower market; activities and competitions for wrapping traditional banh tet; cultural and art performances celebrating the Party and Spring; fireworks to welcome the New Year; the “First Bud Picking of the Year” spring-opening program; folk games and entertainment activities at the Spring fair; and the traditional boat racing competition.
