Nam Giao esplanade ready for restoration

HNN.VN - Hue Monuments Conservation Center has just approved the construction plan and cost estimate as a final step in preparation for the restoration of the Nam Giao Esplanade.

The restoration of Nam Giao esplanade starting in 2021. 

The restoration starts in 2021 and is expected to finish in 2023. In phase 1, the project focuses on restoring and preserving the main palace relic “Trai Cung”; the system of enclosure walls, gates, courtyards of Trai Cung palace and the East and West outer wall; designing a new electric lighting system and embellishing the garden landscape. The total project area covers nearly 7000 square meters.

The project has a total cost of 24 billion VND, invested by Hue Monuments Conservation Center.

A section of Hue Imperial Citadel wall collapsed after days of heavy rain and flooding. The fallen section, about 15 meters long, is located on the northern side of Hue Imperial City, next to the park along Dang Thai Than Street (Phu Xuan Ward).
