Grab Vietnam and Hue City collaborate on digital transformation

HNN.VN - On the afternoon of February 28th, Hue City and Grab Vietnam signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to implement programs and initiatives supporting the city’s digital transformation goals.

 The cooperation agreement contributes to improving citizens’ lives

The agreement aims to enhance the application of technology in various fields, thereby improving the quality of life for local residents and creating new drives for socio-economic development in Hue City. Attending the signing ceremony were Mr. Hoang Hai Minh - Vice Chairman of Hue City People's Committee and Mr. Alejandro Osorio, Managing Director of Grab Vietnam.

According to the MoU signed between Hue City Institute for Development Studies and Grab Co., Ltd., the three-year cooperation will focus on key areas, including: supporting micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises in applying information technology and digital transformation; promoting digital transformation in the transportation sector; advancing digital transformation in tourism by leveraging technology to promote Hue’s heritage, culture, and cuisine; and enhancing digital skills for local business owners, small traders, and residents.

To promote Hue’s digital economy, both parties will implement programs to spread digital knowledge, improve digital and language skills for Grab partners in particular and the local community in general - especially children, students, and those working in the service and e-commerce sectors in Hue. In addition to these key areas, Hue City and Grab Vietnam will also collaborate on other activities contributing to the city’s green and sustainable development goals.

To mark this meaningful partnership, Hue City and Grab Vietnam will jointly organize various celebratory activities. From March 1st – 2nd, 2025, at Le Loi Park, from 9 AM to 9 PM daily, Hue residents and visitors can participate in interactive activities such as taking photos with a Hue-themed Grab backdrop, engaging in experience-based games to receive gifts and discount codes for Grab services, and enjoying an acoustic music night…

Vice Chairman Hoang Hai Minh affirmed that digital transformation is one of the city’s top priorities, including developing digital infrastructure, applying technology into urban management, and meeting the growing demand for information, entertainment, and services. “Following the signing, relevant units will collaborate, facilitate, and strengthen cooperation between the parties to fully and effectively implement the agreed-upon areas,” Mr. Minh emphasized.
