Mr. Hoang Hai Minh, Deputy Chairman of the City People’s Committee speaking at the ceremony

On the afternoon of July 23, the Management Board of the City’s Economic and Industrial Zones in collaboration with the People’s Committee of Chan May - Lang Co Commune held a ceremony to announce the Prime Minister’s Decision approving the adjustment of the general master plan for the construction of Chan May - Lang Co Economic Zone until 2045, at a scale of 1/10,000.

Chan May - Lang Co Economic Zone was established by the Prime Minister in 2006, and its general master plan was approved in 2008. However, after nearly 2 decades of development, the old plan has revealed many shortcomings, and it is no longer aligned with the new development orientations, affecting people’s livelihoods and reducing investment appeal. The technical indicators and projections to 2025 are also no longer consistent with the city’s overall master plan.

Facing this reality, the City People’s Committee proposed a comprehensive adjustment to the master planning project. On December 26, 2024, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 1657/QĐ-TTg, approving the adjusted general construction master plan for the Chan May - Lang Co Economic Zone until 2045.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Hoang Hai Minh requested the Management Committee of the City’s Economic and Industrial Zones to promptly review and implement the sub-zone plans; at the same time, developing an implementation plan in sync with technical and social infrastructural systems, while also coordinating with the Department of Construction to adjust the housing development program.

Mr. Hoang Hai Minh also requested setting up key technical infrastructure investment projects for each planning phase, ensuring compliance with planning regulations and land management laws, and minimizing resource loss and waste. At the same time, he emphasized the need to develop mechanisms, policies, financial resources, and human resources to realize critical infrastructure projects.

Regarding local authorities, the Deputy Chairman of Hue City People’s Committee requested the People’s Committee of Chan May - Lang Co Commune to closely coordinate in the implementation of sub-zone planning, ensuring infrastructure synchronization; strengthen construction order management, strictly handle cases of unlicensed or unauthorized construction, and improper land use. Furthermore, it is necessary to intensify the effort of raising public awareness so that residents clearly understand and properly follow the approved planning.
