This event marks an important milestone in the internationalization of Vietnam’s tourism workforce, as the two institutions officially become partners in the Swiss Executive Hospitality Training (Swiss EHT) program.
According to the MOU, under the coordination of the ST4SD project, an international-quality knowledge transfer model developed by the EHL Hospitality Business School will be transferred to Hue Tourism College and the School of Hospitality and Tourism - Hue University.
The program is designed with a flexible and modern learning model: 80% of coursework will be delivered online through the learning management system of EHL Hospitality Business School, widely recognized as the world’s leading institution in hospitality management education, while 20% will be conducted in person. A key feature of the Swiss EHT program is the integration of sustainable development principles into every module, from food and beverage operations management to strategic leadership. This approach equips managers with the ability to balance economic efficiency, environmental protection, and community responsibility.
Standing Vice Chairman Nguyen Thanh Binh emphasized: “Implementing the Swiss Executive Hospitality Training program in Hue represents a strategic step toward standardizing tourism human resources according to international standards. He noted that the cooperation is expected not only to enhance the competitiveness of tourism in central Vietnam but also to lay a solid foundation for the city’s long-term goal of developing green and sustainable tourism”.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Andri Meier - Deputy Head of Cooperation at the Embassy of Switzerland in Vietnam, stated that through the ST4SD project, Swiss Government is committed to supporting Vietnam in achieving the strategic goals of its tourism sector in a sustainable manner. Implementing the Swiss EHT program in Hue goes beyond simple knowledge transfer. It also aims to help local training institutions become centers for supplying high-quality human resources, thereby enhancing the competitiveness of central Vietnam’s tourism sector on the global map, attracting investment, and creating more employment opportunities.
