HNN.VN - On the afternoon of April 23, Mr. Nguyen Khac Toan, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, and Chairman of Hue City People’s Committee, along with representatives from relevant departments and sectors, received and held a working session with a delegation from the Consulate General of the Republic of Belarus in Ho Chi Minh City, led by Mr. Alexander Dmitrievich Sidoruk, Consul General.

Mr. Nguyen Khac Toan expressed his pleasure in welcoming the delegation and emphasized the outstanding potential and advantages of Hue - Vietnam's sixth centrally-governed municipality, and the first heritage city, oriented toward development in accordance with the model of heritage, culture, ecology, landscape, and smart city.

Chairman of the City People’s Committee emphasized that the friendly relations between Vietnam and Belarus are developing positively, especially following the upgrade of their relationship to a Strategic Partnership in 2025. On this foundation, Hue has established initial cooperation with Belarus, particularly in education through joint programs between Hue University and several Belarusian training institutions.

During the working session, the city leader proposed that the Belarusian Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City support the connectivity and promote the cooperation between businesses of both sides in the fields of industry, agriculture, tourism, and services, while also expanding into information technology and digital transformation, etc.

Mr. Nguyen Khac Toan expressed confidence that, with the support of the Belarusian Consulate General, the cooperative relationship between Hue City and Belarusian partners will continue to grow in a substantive and effective manner, contributing to strengthening the friendship between the two countries.

Mr. Alexander Dmitrievich Sidoruk, Consul General of the Republic of Belarus in Ho Chi Minh City, thanked Hue’s leader for the reception and highly evaluated the significance of the working session in opening up cooperation opportunities between the two sides. He affirmed that the friendship between Vietnam and Belarus is growing stronger, and noted that next year marks the 35th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

The Consul General introduced the potential of Belarus and expressed his desire to connect Hue with a similar locality in Belarus, aiming to establish formal cooperative relations, while also promoting two-way trade exchange.

Mr. Alexander Dmitrievich Sidoruk expressed confidence that the cooperation between Hue and Belarusian partners will continue to develop in a substantive and effective manner, contributing to strengthening the friendship between the two countries.
