The event served as an important academic forum for updating participants on the latest advances in treatment, surgery, and the application of high technology in modern medicine, while also strengthening professional cooperation, training, and technology transfer between the two hospitals. It also contributes to advancing international integration, improving the quality of healthcare services, and developing a highly qualified medical workforce.

The conference provided a valuable platform for sharing the latest developments in treatment methods, surgical techniques, and cutting-edge medical technologies, while expanding professional collaboration, training programs, and technical exchanges between the two institutions.

Attending the conference were Professor. Dr. Pham Nhu Hiep, Director of Hue Central Hospital; Professor Yun-Ching Fu, Director of Taichung General Hospital and Head of the Department of Pediatric Cardiovascular Surgery, along with hospital leaders and specialists from both institutions.

During the conference, experts delivered a series of in-depth and highly practical presentations highlighting the latest treatment trends worldwide. Topics included cardiovascular interventions for congenital and structural heart diseases; the application of the Da Vinci robotic system in pediatric cardiovascular surgery and colorectal cancer treatment; pediatric cardiac surgery; intraoperative radiation therapy (IORT) for early-stage breast cancer; systemic treatment for pancreatic cancer patients; robotic hepatobiliary-pancreatic surgery; laparoscopic surgery for colorectal cancer treatment; robotic-assisted surgery for spinal deformities; and unilateral biportal endoscopy (UBE) techniques for treating herniated discs and lumbar spinal stenosis.

Many of the scientific presentations also demonstrated Hue Central Hospital’s significant progress in adopting, implementing, and mastering advanced medical techniques that meet international standards. Fields such as robotic surgery, interventional cardiology, pediatric surgery, oncology, and minimally invasive surgery have achieved notable successes, helping to improve treatment outcomes and expand access to high-quality healthcare services for residents of Central Vietnam and across the country.

Beyond serving as a venue for exchanging medical knowledge and advanced technologies, the conference also opened up long-term cooperation opportunities between the two institutions in human resource training, scientific research, technology transfer, and the development of specialized medical disciplines. Through international partnership programs, Hue Central Hospital continues to affirm its role as a leading center for advanced medicine in Central Vietnam, gradually enhancing its standing on the regional and international medical landscape while striving to provide increasingly effective care for patients.

On the morning of August 11, leaders of Hue Central Hospital said the hospital had held a discharge ceremony for patient N.T.L., 34, from Quang Ngai Province, who recently underwent the hospital’s 24th heart transplant. After nearly two months of intensive treatment, the patient has made a good recovery, with stable health indicators, and was deemed fit to return home.
