Promoting collaboration in treating pediatric cancer with Japanese doctors

Hue Central Hospital has successfully performed six organ transplants from a brain-dead donor, bringing life-saving and restorative opportunities to six critically ill patients. This achievement not only affirms the high level of expertise of the hospital’s medical team but also profoundly spreads the humanitarian value of organ and tissue donation within the community.

On the morning of April 28th, Hue Central Hospital held a ceremony to introduce the 3.0 Tesla MRI system - SIGNA Pioneer. Attendees included Mr. Pham Duc Tien, Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairman of Hue City People’s Council; Mr. Tran Huu Thuy Giang, Member of the Provincial Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the city People’s Committee, along with representatives of various departments and agencies.

To meet the demand for updating knowledge and enhancing professional capacity for medical staff, Hue Central Hospital recently launched a series of large-scale and continuous training courses in March 2026, attracting a significant number of trainees from various healthcare facilities across the country.

On the morning of March 25, Hue Central Hospital announced that it had held a discharge ceremony for a pediatric patient with thalassemia (a hereditary blood disorder) following a successful bone marrow transplant using marrow donated by the patient’s older sister. This is the 15th thalassemia bone marrow transplant performed at the hospital, marking an important step forward in the treatment of genetic hematologic diseases.

This notable figure was announced at the 2025 Voluntary Blood Donation Review Conference held on the morning of March 11th by the city’s Voluntary Blood Donation Mobilization Steering Committee in coordination with Hue Red Cross Society.
