On April 28th, the Union of Science and Technology Associations of Hue City issued a decision to recognize 15 individuals as Outstanding Scientists in Science and Technology for the 9th time in 2025. The honorees were selected for their exceptional achievements in scientific and technological activities, including Professor Kenneth D. Montgomery.

Professor Montgomery has made significant contributions to the healthcare sector, particularly in the orthopedics and reconstructive surgery field, helping to improve the effectiveness of diagnosis and treatment for patients in the region. Orthonations, the organization he leads, has been collaborating with Hue Central Hospital since 2015.

Every year, Orthonations teams of orthopedic surgeons, physical therapy experts, and anesthesiologists come to Hue Central Hospital to conduct workshops, seminars, and training sessions to provide surgical consultation and share expertise with the hospital’s medical staff. Thanks to Orthonations’ support, many advanced surgical techniques have been successfully introduced at the hospital, including arthroscopic procedures on the shoulder, knee, and ankle joints, as well as shoulder replacement surgeries.

In addition, Orthonations has awarded scholarships to doctors from the hospital’s Center for Orthopedics and Reconstructive Surgery, allowing them to receive training and develop new techniques in arthroscopy and sports medicine at leading hospitals and surgical centers in the United States, thereby elevating the hospital’s capabilities and its services to international standards.

Previously, in 2024, Professor Kenneth D. Montgomery was also awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee (now Hue City People's Committee).
