KOICA signs to support Hue culture and tourism smart city development

HNN.VN - On the afternoon of January 21, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Mr. Phan Ngoc Tho had a meeting, working session and minute signing ceremony of the project on “Hue culture and tourism smart city development” between the Provincial People's Committee and KOICA Office in Vietnam.

The project on “Hue culture and tourism smart city development” has a total investment of USD 14.8 million, of which the funding source from KOICA is USD 13 million, the reciprocal budget of the province is USD 1.8 million. The project will be implemented in five years from 2021 to 2025. KOICA supports the project development to improve the public management capacity in the tourism sector, related to the transformation of the tourism industry towards economic development, ensuring the sustainability of environment and the society.

The two sides visited the work on embellishing the Huong River’s banks

The specific goals of the project are to develop tourism in Hue City and build a smart tourism information system, as well as to develop an urban cultural tourism center, and expand the urban walking networks in Hue.

The components to be implemented include the installation of smart lighting and surveillance camera systems along the banks of the Huong River; at the same time, building public administration capacity in tourism development and urban management. The scope of the project is the park area on both banks of the Huong River, the section from Da Vien Bridge to Truong Tien Bridge.

At the working session, Country Director of KOICA Office in Vietnam, Mr. Cho Han Deog, said that he would send Korean experts with experience to Vietnam so as to provide the necessary technical assistance for the implementation of the goals and expected results of the project.

Mr. Phan Ngoc Tho highly appreciated and expressed his gratitude to the projects funded by KOICA. He committed to have an overall management solution on the new project; operation and management of data ensuring the efficient of the data center and the smart tourism city service by ensuring the systems to be operated by experienced and competent engineers and specialists.

On this occasion, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Phan Ngoc Tho presented the Certificate of Merit and the Badge of Good People, Good deeds to Ms. Lee So Young, Deputy Country Director of KOICA Office in Vietnam.
