KOICA signs memorandum of understanding of the smart urban valley program in Central Vietnam

HNN.VN - On the morning of May 16, the signing ceremony of memorandum of understanding between Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and Thua Thien Hue, Quang Nam provinces and Da Nang city about smart urban valley program in Central Vietnam was held in Hue city.

Attending the ceremony were KOICA President – Lee Mi Kyung, representative of KOICA in Vietnam and leaders of the three provinces mentioned above.

The parties sign memorandum of understanding together

The memorandum of understanding was signed to unify that the parties will together build the friendly cooperation and exchange relationships on the basis of equality, mutual benefit and being compliance with the laws of each country on smart urban, which bears the specific identity of each locality.

Specifically, KOICA will support Thua Thien Hue to invest in building infrastructure to develop tourism culture in Hue city. The projects of disaster management will be invested in Da Nang city. In Quang Nam, KOICA will focus on building urban service infrastructure and administrative databases towards the smart city in Tam Ky.

This program will be implemented in the period of 2020 – 2025, and KOICA committed to call for the participation of Korean partners in investment and technical cooperation; at the same time synchronously and efficiently supervising the implement of smart urban projects in localities.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Mr. Phan Ngoc Tho, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee said that over the years, KOICA has had a great cooperation relationship with Thua Thien Hue province. With the support of KOICA, especially through the work of signing the memorandum of understanding of smart urban valley program in Central Vietnam, Thua Thien Hue province has a chance to become the essential part which bears the Vietnam – Korea symbol, as well as the typical cultural and tourist center of Central Vietnam.
