The performance took place on the evening of September 7 inside Duyet Thi Duong Theater (Hue Imperial Citadel) on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan (1973 - 2023).

During the show, JPO5 brought to music enthusiasts in Hue a repertoire of classical pieces, melodies from famous films, and familiar tunes cherished by both Vietnamese and Japanese audiences. The program included the cheerful Minuet (composed by Beethoven in 1795), Yesterday (The Beatles), Sakura Sakura, Moon River from the movie “Breakfast at Tiffany's”, as well as music from the animated film “My Neighbor Totoro” composed by Joe Hisaishi.

JPO5 consists of two violinists, a viola player, a cellist, and a trombone player. They are members of Japan's leading symphony orchestra, the Japan Philharmonic Orchestra (JPO), which was founded in 1956 and is based in Tokyo.

Over nearly six decades of existence and growth, JPO has been known not just for its remarkable performances but also for its services to society via efforts to promote culture and arts in social development, especially through art education activities.
