Hue City leaders receive and work with Consul General of the People's Republic of China in Da Nang

HNN.VN - On the afternoon of January 14, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Trung, Member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the City Party Committee, received and held an official meeting with Ms. Dong Biyou, Consul General of the People's Republic of China in Da Nang, along with a delegation from the Chinese Consulate General.

During the working session, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Trung expressed his pleasure in welcoming the Consul General and the delegation, and extended his wishes for health, happiness, and success for the new year 2026.

In providing an overview of the socio-economic development of Hue City in 2025, the Secretary of the City Party Committee noted that it was a year of special significance as Hue officially began operating as a centrally-governed municipality model. Despite facing ongoing challenges caused by global economic uncertainties and complex natural disasters, the city’s economy maintained stable growth with an estimated GRDP increase of 8.5% in 2025, ranking 12th out of 34 localities nationwide, thanks to the strong leadership of the City Party Committee and the flexible administration of authorities at all levels.

He also emphasized the vital role of foreign investment projects, including more than 30 Chinese FDI projects with a total registered capital of approximately 787.5 million USD, ranking second among countries and territories investing in Hue.

At the working session, the Secretary of the City Party Committee expressed his hope that the Chinese Consulate General in Da Nang would continue to accompany and support Hue in fostering cooperation with Chinese localities, promoting the opening of a Hue - Hangzhou flight route, promoting Hue’s heritage image in the Chinese market, and strengthening investment attraction, cultural exchanges, people-to-people exchanges, as well as cooperation in education and training.

Ms. Dong Biyou, Consul General of the People's Republic of China in Da Nang highly evaluated the development achievements of Hue City, and affirmed to continue to serve as a bridge to foster friendly, practical, and effective cooperation between Hue and Chinese localities and partners in the coming time.
