Cooperating in implementing green transport project in relic area

HNN.VN - With the goal of building environmentally friendly Green Transport infrastructure, in line with the overall economic development orientation of the province in the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050, on June 14, Hue Monuments Conservation Center and Gbike Co., Ltd. (South Korea) signed a cooperation agreement to implement a green transport project in the relic area to exploit and promote the values of Hue relics.

Representatives from Hue Monuments Conservation Center, Gbike Co., Ltd., Thua Thien Hue Institute for Development Studies, the Provincial Planning Institute, the Urban Management Department, and the Culture and Information Department of Hue City attended the working session and signing ceremony.

Developing infrastructure in the green direction and public transport in the direction of Green Transport is a priority strategy that Thua Thien Hue Province is interested in and focusing on investment. At the working session, the two sides discussed the situation which Gbike Company presented about registering ODA capital of 15,000,000 USD from the South Korean Government to promote Hue Green Smart City project (including the implementation of a smart mobility system for the community and the Battery Swap Station (BSS) in the relic area and Hue City).

Gbike Company wished to cooperate in investing and operating from 30 to 50 GCOO electric bicycles in the Imperial Citadel area (phase 2) and continue to invest in smart mobility vehicles (GCOO electric bicycles and some other vehicles) in the following phases through the business cooperation contract (BCC) with Hue Monuments Conservation Center, People's Committee of Hue City and other relevant units.

Accordingly, Hue Monuments Conservation Center and Gbike Company agreed to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) covering the following contents: Cooperation in building a sustainable and environmentally friendly green transport infrastructure at relic sites; Cooperation in exploiting tourism services and promoting the values of Hue heritages; and Strengthening cooperation and exchanging research experiences, and organizing training courses to improve the capacity of applying information technology and digital transformation in cultural heritage conservation and sustainable tourism development.

Previously, in February 2024, SMC Co., Ltd. and Gbike handed over smart mobility vehicles to pilot green transportation in Hue Imperial Palace heritage area, with 23 electric bicycles at the Gia Long Tomb heritage site, presented by VPM company (South Korea) to the Center, with the goal of responding to the movement of turning Hue into the first bicycle city in Vietnam.
